The Greater Sandhills Chamber is proud to announce the appointment of Rodney Burnside as the new vice president. Mr. Burnside brings a wealth of experience and leadership to the Chamber, having served in various capacities within the business community and the U.S. military.
In his role as vice president, Mr. Burnside will be committed to being a strong advocate for businesses across the Greater Sandhills area. His inspiring vision is to establish consistent and open communication with local businesses, ensuring that the Chamber remains a vital support system. His focus will be on fostering business growth, advocating for economic improvements, and providing resources that allow all enterprises in the region to thrive.
He served honorably in the United States Army for 21 years, managing and operating multiple high-level facilities and projects. His military background in leadership and operations gives him a unique perspective and skill set that will greatly benefit the Chamber and the local business community.
Mr. Burnside holds a bachelor’s degree in Hospitality from American Military University and continues to demonstrate his leadership and dedication through active community involvement. Mr. Burnside is a proud member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., where he serves as the Bigger and Better Business Director for the fraternity's Spring Lake chapter in North Carolina.
Mr. Burnside is married to (RET) Sergeant Major Sondra Phillips Burnside, and they are the proud parents of four children. His dedication to his family and community exemplifies his commitment to service and leadership, which are values he will bring to his new role at the Greater Sandhills Chamber of Commerce.
