Cape Fear Studios announces new Clay Invitational “Reunion” exhibit

Cape Fear Studios (CFS) is pleased to announce the opening of our Clay Invitational “Reunion” exhibit on Friday, Oct 25, 2024.  For this exhibit, they welcome back two potters from their early days, Stan Simmons and Robert Helsel, who were members from 1994 through 1998.  Helsel was stationed here at the former Fort Bragg, and during that time he pursued his love of clay and textures through the Raku process. Simmons, a more traditional potter, worked in clay while also running his own construction business.  Their friendship developed during their time at CFS and continues today through many miles and years.  We are thrilled to present a “reunion tour” of two of our favorite potters.

Opening reception will be held on Friday, Oct. 25 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  The exhibit will be open to the public from Oct. 25 through Nov. 19, 2024.

Cape Fear Studios is located at 148 Maxwell Street, Fayetteville, NC  28301 and their hours are Tuesday – Friday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
