Greater Fayetteville Business Journal gathered local officials, business leaders and community members at the Cape Fear Botanical Garden this morning for the final Power Breakfast of 2024.

The event, titled Power Breakfast: Fayetteville’s Most Intriguing People of 2024, offered attendees greater insight into the operations of some of Fayetteville’s key organizations and their leaders.

The panel featured North Carolina Military Business Center’s Executive Director Scott Dorney,  Executive Director of the Sandhills Chapter of the American Red Cross Phil Harris, President/CEO of Cumberland Community Foundation, Inc. Mary Holmes and Fayetteville Cumberland County Economic Development Corporation’s President/CEO Robert Van Geons. With this panel of experts from different fields such as economic development, community fundraising, humanitarian aid and military business development, the common ground was each institution’s passion for and dedication to bettering the greater Fayetteville area.

Fayetteville has a lot working in its favor from a strong workforce through both educational institutions and transitioning military personnel. Our community is tight knit and helps take care of each other as is proved by donations made to and volunteers involved with Cumberland Community Foundation and the American Red Cross. By increasing awareness of the missions of these organizations and unifying the community around their initiatives, we come together to make Fayetteville an even better place to live, work and recreate.

“We are so thrilled at the turnout for our final Power Breakfast of 2024. We selected our panelists based on a number of factors, but we really wanted to bring to light some new information about some of these already well known organizations. Each of our panelists did a fantastic job bringing some attention to some of the lesser known facts about their respective industries. And we are excited to see what collaborations, growth and future developments come from our conversation today! Thank you all for attending and supporting  our events and we look forward to hosting you again in 2025!” shared Greater Fayetteville Business Journal Editor Faith Hatton.

As 2024 comes to a close we want to once again thank our sponsors for helping us host four successful Power Breakfast throughout the year. We look forward to continuing to gather with our community to listen to and learn from our local businesses and leaders.
