Fayetteville Regional Airport (FAY) held a ribbon cutting for phase III renovations Dec. 13 at 2 p.m., marking the completion to all main terminal renovations.
The newest additions to FAY include updated gates in the B Concourse, a VIP lounge for distinguished guests, expanded seating options, additional airline offices and employee lounges for new potential airline partners.
“Our airport connects you to more than just places. It connects you to people and experiences,” shared Mayor Pro Tem Kathy Jensen at the event. “Through these improvements, we have been able to ensure the experience of our passengers is something the ‘Can Do City’ can be proud of.”
FAY began main terminal renovations in 2017 starting with the A Concourse. FAY received a total of $61 million in federal and state funding for the main terminal renovations from NCDOT Division of Aviation and Federal Aviation Administration, specifically appropriated for airport improvement.
The completion of this renovation preludes the beginning of the International Arrivals Facility, breaking ground in 2026.
