Fayetteville Symphony Orchestra presents Sounds of Lafayette

Celebrate the 200th anniversary of Lafayette's visit to Fayetteville with the Fayetteville Symphony! 

The Fayetteville Symphony Orchestra (FSO) will present a concert titled "Sounds of Lafayette" on Saturday, Jan. 25, 2025 at First Presbyterian Church (102 Ann St., in Fayetteville). 

Chamber ensembles from the FSO will perform a concert full of French music to celebrate this historical landmark. Along the way, Music Director Dr. Stefan Sanders will provide insightful commentary about the featured pieces and composers. This concert is a great opportunity to hear fantastic music from their talented musicians and learn about the history of the city's namesake, so don't miss out!

“The Fayetteville Symphony is excited and honored to be a part of the festivities this year celebrating the 200th Anniversary of the Marquis de Lafayette’s farewell tour to the United States. As the last surviving general of the American Revolution, he inspired a patriotic retrospective for Americans in the post-Revolutionary War period,” shared Sanders. “The program will feature music from Lafayette’s time accompanied by stories and historical context, making for a fun, informative and celebratory performance.”

The doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and the concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. Tickets can be purchased online here, by contacting the FSO office at (910) 433-4690, or by purchasing tickets at the door the night of the concert. Senior, military, college student, child, and Cumberland County Schools employee discounts are available on all ticket purchases.

The Fayetteville Symphony Orchestra was founded in 1956 and is a professional orchestra whose mission is to educate, entertain, and inspire the citizens of Fayetteville, NC, and surrounding counties.
