Fayetteville police lateral hiring event set for Jan. 25

The Fayetteville Police Department is hosting a lateral officer hiring event on Saturday, Jan. 25 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Manna Church, 5117 Cliffdale Road Fayetteville, NC.

Law enforcement agencies nationwide are facing significant staffing shortages. Shortages place a greater demand on officers to meet the needs of public safety.

To address these shortages, the police department is focusing on lateral recruitment. The lateral recruitment process provides the department an opportunity to hire experienced police officers.

“The upcoming lateral hiring event will allow us to save time and resources on training, as these experienced officers bring valuable knowledge and skills learned throughout their careers,” Fayetteville Police Major Diana Holloway said in a press release.

As a lateral hire, officers will be credited for their qualified years of service, with a salary range up to $84,585.

“By joining our department, you will have the opportunity to become a member of our specialized assignments ranging from Emergency Response Team, K9 Team, Urban Search and Recovery Team, School Resource Officers, Aviation Unit, Detectives, and so much more,” Holloway added in the release.

The following sections of the hiring event will be completed on site:

Orientation
Written Testing
Police Officer Physical Agility Test (POPAT)
Oral Interview
Computer Voice Stress Analyzer test (CVSA)

Interested candidates are asked to complete the application online at JoinFayPD.com prior to arrival and come dressed to complete the Police Officer Physical Agility Test.

There will also be a notary public on site for any documents that need to be certified or verified.
