Harnett County Board of Elections seeks public input on proposed voting location changes

The Harnett County Board of Elections invites the community to participate in three upcoming public meetings to discuss proposed voting changes to precinct locations for early voting and election day.

The Board of Elections is considering adjustments to the current precinct boundaries and polling sites to better serve the community. Changes are being considered for early voting and election day. These changes include:

Harnett County Board of Elections Director, Claire Jones stated adjusting voting precincts is essential to ensure that every voice is fairly represented, and that the democratic process remains accessible to all.

“As populations shift, new communities emerge, and geographic boundaries evolve, it is critical to reassess precinct lines. This process not only reflects the changing demographics but also ensures that voters’ needs and concerns are addressed. Public comment plays a crucial role in this adjustment process, offering an opportunity for citizens to actively participate, voice their concerns, and provide local insight,” said Jones in a press release.

All residents are invited to review the changes on the website and share their perspective during the public meeting.
