Fayetteville Technical Community College swore in two community members for their Board of Trustees on Monday, Oct. 18.
The two new members are Elaina Ball and Esther R. Thompson.
Thompson was previously on the Board of Trustees, but took a four-year hiatus. She told the board yesterday that she is happy to return. Thompson is also a local businesswoman, and was appointed by the Cumberland County Board of Commissioners.
Ball was appointed by the Cumberland County Board of Education as a trustee after Dr. Dallas Freeman bowed out of the position citing health reasons. Ball is new to the community, but told the board in a letter that, “she is committed to ensuring the growth of the business community and to maintaining a highly skilled workforce,” the press release from FTCC said.
The Honorable Patricia Timmons-Goodson swore in both women at the beginning of yesterday’s board meeting.
