After a substantial delay, construction at the Mazarick Park Tennis Center is once again progressing.

There are three major aspects to the project: sitework, tennis courts and the building. M&E Contracting has been awarded these aspects of this project. M&E Contracting is taking over following a lull in progress after the previous contractor abandoned the project.

Materials for the building framework were delivered last week and vertical construction for the building began. Construction for the sitework and tennis courts are set to begin this month. As of now, slabs for the locker rooms and showers have been completed. This project is set to be completed late summer 2025.

The 6,594 square foot Tennis Center will feature 15 courts, one used as a championship tennis court, four pickleball courts, locker rooms, a lounge, learning area, and even a pro shop

"It’s an all encompassing facility which will serve youth and adult tennis programs for both instruction and competition. So it should be a pretty spectacular facility once it's complete,” remarked City of Fayetteville’s Director for Marketing and Communications Loren Bymer.

The total approved Tennis Center project budget is $13,400,000. This is broken into two funding sources:  $7.9 Million from Bond Funding and $5.5 Million from ARPA Funding. The total construction cost for the M&E contract is $5,293,090.49.
