Sampson County announces hiring freeze

The Sampson County Government has announced that, effective April 9, 2025, all currently vacant positions (for which job offers have not yet been issued) and positions that become vacant will be frozen until further notice.

Exceptions to this freeze include:

Law Enforcement Positions (Sheriff’s Office and Detention Center)
Emergency Medical Services Positions

This decision is aimed at ensuring the county’s resources are allocated effectively as the County prepares for the FY25-26 budget.
