El Burrito Mexican Restaurant 3 now serving Spring Lake

As northern Spring Lake continues to see more development, a new Mexican restaurant is open to keep hungry patrons from having to drive far to get their fix.

El Burrito Mexican Restaurant has opened their third location at 6743 Overhills Road in Spring Lake. Serving traditional Mexican food such as burritos, chipotle chicken and tacos, the menu also has some more exciting offerings as house specialties including Mojarra Huichol (whole fried tilapia), mango salmon, camarones a la huichol and the burrito loco.

The restaurant opened its doors on March 5 with a soft opening and since then, restaurant staff shared they’ve seen a pretty good response as customers discover the new dining option now right around the corner.

Serving traditional Mexican food such as burritos, chipotle chicken and tacos, the menu also has some more exciting offerings as house specialties.

“We’re happy with the customers, everybody is really friendly so, I’m happy to be here,” shared manager Jorge Pacheco. “It’s a really good space here, the neighbors are really nice, so we try to do the best job that [we] can.”

The new location is the third location for the El Burrito franchise, with the first located in Sanford and the second in Fayetteville. A Veteran and locally owned franchise, El Burrito restaurants have been serving the community since 2012, and the El Burrito in Spring Lake is the latest in the expansion of the brand.

“We’re trying to expand the business, we’re a small corporation and we’re trying to open more. And people have asked us ‘Hey, can you move over here’ or ‘why don’t you guys open one over there?’ That’s why we made the decision to open here [in Spring Lake],” shared Pacheco.

The new El Burrito Mexican Restaurant 3 is open from 9 a.m. - 11 p.m. Monday through Saturday and open from 12 p.m. - 9 p.m. on Sundays.
Pacheco shared that he hopes word of mouth spreads so people in the community can come and give them a try.
