Youth For Christ - Fayetteville, Inc. appoints new executive director

Youth For Christ - Fayetteville, Inc. has appointed Jenna Shackelford to serve as its new executive director. She began the role on June 1. Shackelford joined the staff of YFC - Fayetteville in 2023, initially joining the team as a Campus Life/City Life director. In that role, she facilitated and assisted in the facilitation of the organization’s Campus Life program in seven Cumberland County Schools as well as events like leadership trainings, camps, Bible studies, tea socials and more outside of the school system. 

Shackelford has also spearheaded the organization’s Giving Tuesday efforts and managed a newsletter to update the community on YFC - Fayetteville’s events and the hardworking staff.

“At Youth For Christ - Fayetteville, we aim to give life to the stories of young people by meeting them where they are with the love of Jesus,” Shackelford said in a press release. “I have loved working with teens in Cumberland County Schools, and I am excited for the future of our chapter and our potential for growth.”

Through lunch room visits and Campus Life and City Life programs, Youth For Christ - Fayetteville had face-to-face interactions with roughly 4500 students this year.

“We combine healthy relationships with creative programs to help young people make good

choices, establish a solid foundation for life and positively impact their schools and communities,” Shackelford added in a press release. “As we’ve sought to give students the skills and hope they need to live in a turbulent world, the community has supported us and our teens, and for that, we are grateful.”
