Spring Lake celebrates the grand opening of renovated Spark Hotel by Hilton

The Spring Lake community gathered with county, town and hospitality leadership to celebrate the grand opening of the Spark Hotel by Hilton located at 103 Brook Lane in Spring Lake on Wednesday, June 11.
The event was a chance to show off the completely renovated 36,036 square-foot building which previously served the community as a Country Inn Suites by Radisson.
“Everything here is brand new for our guests. We did a full gutted renovation, new wallpaper, new carpet. All of our soft goods are new, the furniture is new. Even the PTACs in the rooms are new,” shared General Manager Vanessa Bell. “We have a 24 hour fitness center for our guests, in house laundry for them to use. We have a pool [and] we also have continental breakfast for our guests.”
The hotel opened on May 1, 2025 under the new brand and is accepting guests. Room choices include a two-queen standard suite and one bed king suites for general travelers, and for expected military guests, King Suite and King Studio Suites provide more room for longer stays.
The event was organized in part by DistiNCtly Fayetteville, which has been working to promote and support hotels in the area.
“It takes a village to get a hotel like this open, and the hard work that went into it is really contributed by so many people. And so thank you for all of your hard work,” shared DistiNCtly Fayetteville President and CEO Devin Heath.
“This beautiful renovation has definitely added some new energy, a new spark to our community. And for that, we're very grateful, because Spring Lake is no stranger to understanding how important work and relaxation is, and so we're grateful that you're providing that service to our visitors, our military family and friends and even our residents,” shared Spring Lake Mayor Kia Anthony. “We wish you the best of success, cozy stays and booked reservations for the time that you're here.”
Chairman of the Cumberland County Board of Commissioners Kirk deViere also took time to thank the ownership group of the hotel for building it back up and investing in the community.
“You could have gone anywhere and made investment in any other community, but you chose to stay right here, reinvest your dollars, which we appreciate. We are actively working to grow our tourism base in this community, not only with our military population, but outside that military population as we look at other opportunities for our community to grow and showcase,” said deViere.
