Fayetteville City Hall infrastructure upgrades scheduled for June 18–20

Public access to Fayetteville City Hall will be temporarily affected for residents from June 18–20 due to essential infrastructure improvements. The work includes sewer line replacement and the installation of a full-load backup generator.

Beginning Wednesday, June 18, crews will cut and remove a portion of concrete in front of City Hall to access and replace an existing sewer line. That work will continue through Friday, June 20.

During this time, the main entrance to City Hall will be closed. Visitors will need to access the building by using the left entrance. Signage will be present to direct residents as needed. For services that can be completed online, please visit FayettevilleNC.gov.

Although City Hall is closed on June 19 in recognition of Juneteenth, the building will experience a temporary power outage as part of the generator installation process. The new full-load generator will provide power to the entire building during outages. The current generator which currently only supports 911 communications, and IT will remain in place to provide redundancy. There will be limited access to the parking lot behind City Hall as this work is being completed.

Power and access to the parking lot behind City Hall are expected to be fully restored by 5 p.m. on June 19.
