The Chili Cook-Off will be held on Nov. 6 at Dirtbag Ales.

The Hope Mills Area Chamber of Commerce is preparing to host its annual Chili Cook-off Fundraiser from 12-3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 6 at Dirtbag Ales.

“We have had a lot of fun entries this year, like Napkins, The Hope Mills Fire Department, 910Comed, Broad River Hemp Co., The Roof Mentors, et cetera,” Casey Ferris, the president of the chamber, said. “It should be a lot of good food and a lot of fun. As of right now, we have 21 entries for chili.”

The businesses sponsoring the event are WKML, EXIT Realty, Harmony at Hope Mills and United Bank

This is one of our biggest fundraisers,” Ferris said.

The funds will go toward:

-Ensuring the continued success and operation of the HMACC.

-Paying for the Chamber’s events, such as the Veterans Day Luncheon that will feed an upwards of 75 people. Veterans, police, fire and first responders are invited to eat for free, and $1000 of the proceeds will go toward the NC Veterans Farm.

-A women’s event in March.
