The Moore County Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with Sandhills Community College, invites the public to attend a dynamic half-day event designed to address one of the most pressing issues facing families and businesses today—childcare.
The Community Conversation: Childcare, the Workforce and the Economy will take place on Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2025, at Sandhills Community College’s Foundation Hall, located at 3395 Airport Road, Pinehurst. Registration opens at 8:00 a.m., with the program running from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
This event will bring together childcare providers, parents, business leaders and community partners to engage in a meaningful dialogue around the current state of care in Moore County. Attendees will hear real stories and shared experiences that highlight the direct impact of childcare on families, businesses and the local economy.
Event highlights include:
“Childcare is a key part of increasing labor productivity and is critical to economic success. It is also important to cultivate our future workforce at this early age through early education.,” said President and CEO of the Moore County Chamber of Commerce Linda Parsons in a press release. “This event will provide a platform to elevate local voices, share data and stories, and most importantly, identify ways we can work together to support both our workforce and our families.”
