Defense Alliance of North Carolina to hold science and technology forum at Fayetteville State University

The Defense Alliance of North Carolina will hold its upcoming S&T forum on Nov. 16 at Fayetteville State University. 

“I am doing a series of [science and technology] forums with the UNC System, including all its HBCUs to highlight their high value, bringing researchers, innovators, business developers together,” said Phil Williams, chair of the Defense Alliance of NC Science & Technology Committee and Forums. 

In preparation for the event, Williams has spent months speaking with FSU about their insights into science and technology. “Over the last 4 months, I have been speaking with Fayetteville State University,” he explained, “and their Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning/Intelligent Systems research professors, and FSU Cyber team.”

 

Williams notes that attending the forum might be particularly of value to locally based, DOD, science and technology-focused companies.

 

The speakers 

 

Marcia Price, Chief Data Scientist and CEO of Vector Analytics 

Dr. Sambit Bhattacharya, Computer Scientist and Professor in Computer Science and Director of the Intelligent Systems Laboratory at Fayetteville State University

Dr. Bhoj Gautam, assistant professor in the Department of Chemistry, Physics and Materials Science at Fayetteville State University

Dr. Murat Adivar, full professor in Business Analytics at Broadwell College of Business and Economics and the SAP Next-Gen Lab director at Fayetteville State University

John Bellamy, Assistant Director and Operations Manager for the Center for Defense and Homeland Security (CDHS) at Fayetteville State University

 

Attendee check-in will begin at 9:15 a.m. with the forum beginning at 10 a.m. and ending at noon.
