The Cumberland County Register of Deeds announced residents and businesses are now able to file Assumed Business Name forms electronically. This new electronic filing process will save time and trips to the Judge E. Maurice Braswell Cumberland County Courthouse.
This e-filing system marks a major milestone and innovative step forward, modernizing how business owners register with the county. E-filing will result in a faster, more efficient, accessible and streamlined process.
The link for e-filing assumed names has been added to the Register of Deeds website with its own icon and filing instructions. The Register of Deeds website is ccrod.org.
“We’re thrilled to bring this service to the citizens of Cumberland County,” said Cumberland County Register of Deeds Andra Brewington in a press release. “This is about using technology to better serve the public and simplify the process of doing business in our community.”
Note that there is a convenience fee associated with e-filing.
This launch reflects the Register of Deeds’ ongoing commitment to improving service and access for the citizens of Cumberland County. It’s just one more way local government is adapting to meet the needs of today’s fast-paced world.
“Cumberland County is moving forward, and we’re making it easier than ever to do business here,” Brewington added in a press release.
