Cameo Art House Theatre undergoing transfer of ownership

By Staff Report, posted Oct 2, 2025 on BizFayetteville.com

After 25 years as a cultural cornerstone in downtown Fayetteville, N.C., the beloved Cameo Art House Theatre is proud to announce its transformation into a non-profit organization, now known as CAMEO Collective.  This new chapter honors the theater’s rich legacy while expanding its mission to foster artistic expression, cultural enrichment and community engagement.

The Cameo Art House Theatre was founded by Chris and Nasim Kuenzel, along with Eric Lindstrom, whose vision brought independent cinema and cultural vibrancy to Fayetteville in 2000.  Their dedication established the Cameo as a beloved gathering place for film lovers.

CAMEO Collective proudly announces its leadership team: Brian Adam Kline as Artistic Director, Gerard Falls as President and a board of dedicated artists, advocates and business owners shaping its bold vision.  CAMEO Collective will continue the founders’ legacy while broadening its scope to include live performances, educational programs and community events.  The CAMEO Art House Theatre will now be owned and operated by CAMEO Collective.

Since opening its doors in 2000, the Cameo has been a beacon of culture and creativity in Fayetteville. As CAMEO Collective, the organization will honor its founders’ vision while introducing an expanded range of programs, including:

“For a quarter-century, the Cameo has been a place where stories come to life,” said Brian Adam Kline in a press release. “As CAMEO Collective, we’re excited to preserve this legacy and inspire our community through the arts in many other ways for years to come.”

Located at 225 Hay Street, CAMEO Collective is a vibrant space for creativity and connection. CAMEO Collective will launch this exciting new chapter with a special Launch Fundraiser Event at a later date. This elegant evening will feature live entertainment, refreshments and opportunities to support the theater’s mission.
