CCF’s GivingTuesday campaign sets new record with over $4M raised this year

Cumberland Community Foundation has announced record growth in its annual GivingTuesday campaign with $4.1 million raised in 2025 versus $2.88 million in 2024.

GivingTuesday, a global day of giving, is the Tuesday after Thanksgiving every year. Cumberland Community Foundation conducts the local campaign to raise additional funds for its grantees. The foundation raises over $500,000 in matching funds, trains the nonprofit organizations, provides a communications toolkit and mentors nonprofits through the fundraising process. All gifts are processed by the community foundation and then passed on to the charities selected by the donors plus the matching funds.

Since 2020, the foundation has conducted the GivingTuesday campaign in coordination with over 80 of its grantees. 

“The goal is to raise more support for the important missions of local charitable organizations,” said Donor Services Manager and Co-manager of the campaign Maddie Kellogg in a press release. “The people in this community are very generous. We just facilitate their giving through this campaign. The combination of matching funds and a deadline to give helps move donors to action.”

The more than 40% growth in total dollars donated can be attributed to many factors.

Single gifts ranged in size from $10 to $230,000. 

“The most common gift we received was still $100. That is what is great about GivingTuesday. People of all abilities to give come together to make a lasting difference together,” added Kellogg in a press release.

Founded in 1980, Cumberland Community Foundation manages over $160 million in assets made up by the 650 donor endowments. The foundation is audited and accredited.

“This is an unusual change from our daily work of building and managing endowment funds, but we love it,” said Kellogg in a press release. “The entire team is involved, and it gives us a great chance to connect with donors and our grantees.”
