Sweet Valley Ranch awards $30,000 in grants for Cumberland County nonprofits; Seven organizations celebrated during Dec. 17 check presentation

Sweet Valley Ranch – a 300-acre working farm and attraction – has announced the seven Cumberland County organizations have been awarded a total of $30,000 as part of its Gives Back Program. Founders Fred and Anita Surgeon hosted a check presentation on Dec. 17 at Sweet Valley Ranch to recognize the five nonprofits that received $5,000 each, and two faith-based organizations that each received $2,500.

“Each of these organizations is doing important work that strengthens families, supports those in need, and uplifts our community. Anita and I are grateful for the opportunity to give back and to stand alongside leaders who serve with heart and purpose. This is what Sweet Valley Ranch Gives Back is all about,” shared the company on social media. 

Established in 2021, the Sweet Valley Ranch Gives Back program supports local initiatives addressing pressing community needs. The program has awarded over $240,000 to more than 20 organizations serving Cumberland County. Anita and Fred Surgeon, Sweet Valley Ranch owners, along with Melode Dickerson, a member of the selection committee, were proud to support and celebrate their 2025 recipients.

2025 recipients include:

 

• Afro-American Historical and Genealogical Society - Sandhills Chapter recieveing $5,000

• Blue Star Families - Greater Fayetteville Region receiving $5,000.

• Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Raleigh – Fayetteville Region receiving $2,500.

• Follow the Spectrum receiving $5,000

• Greater Life of Fayetteville receiving $5,000

• One Church Covenant Fellowship receiving $2,500

• Two-Six Project receiving $5,000.
