Dutch Bros to acquire Clutch Coffee

By Staff Report, posted Jan 15, 2026 on BizFayetteville.com

Clutch Coffee, a customer-centric drive-thru coffee brand that opened its first location in Fayetteville in September 2024, is being acquired by Dutch Bros. Clutch’s last day of business will be this Friday, Jan. 16, closing at 4 p.m. Following a short closure and renovation period, Dutch Bros plans to reopen locations across North and South Carolina as Dutch Bros shops.

According to Clutch’s website, the company reached a natural point where exiting to Dutch Bros could accelerate its mission without compromising its values.

“This was not a decision made lightly—rather, it comes from a place of deep pride in what we’ve built together, and a belief that this next step will allow the culture, energy, and community-first spirit you helped create continue to grow on an even bigger stage,” shared Clutch Coffee Founder and CEO Darren Spicer on the Clutch website. “What you can expect is the heartbeat of our brand to carry on—the positive people, quality, speed and service—those values are only amplified with Dutch Bros. This will also give our amazing team members new opportunities to grow beyond the current landscape.”

The Fayetteville store, located at 3619 Ramsey St., is one of 20 existing Clutch Coffee Bars set to be closed and reopened as a Dutch Bros shop.
