Newly renovated facility at Fort Bragg hosts BMW Military Service Technician Education Program

The Fort Bragg Public Affairs Office announced today that the new BMW Military Service Technician Education Program hosted on the military base has its first six graduates.

The graduates are four Army soldiers and two Marines.

Fort Bragg is using the 16-week course as part of the Army Career Skills Program and is the first Army installation to do so. The training took place at Fayetteville Technical Community College, which invited BMW to rent a space during September and November.

Meanwhile, a Fort Bragg facility partnered with BMW and the Universal Technical Institute to complete $280,000 in renovations on a 4,2000 square foot facility to be used for “specialized on-base curriculum” and “hands-on technical training on diagnostics and technologies unique to the BMW brand,” the press release said.

The collaboration with Fayetteville Technical Community College allowed students to continue to learn so they could finish in the newly renovated facility this month.

“We are so thankful for our partnership with BMW, UTI and FTCC for allowing this to happen

on schedule,” said Col. Scott Pence, Fort Bragg Garrison commander. “The Military Service

Technician Education Program (MSTEP) allows our transitioning services members to be

extremely marketable candidates for rewarding careers. We are proud of the hard work and effort that our service members put into this course, and wish them the very best of luck in their future endeavors.”
