New COVID-19 care site opens

By Staff Report, posted Dec 17, 2021 on BizFayetteville.com

People planning on travelling over the holidays now have access to a COVID-19 care site at a new location.

StarMed Healthcare has a clinic open at 414 Hall Street inside Heal The Land Church.

Previously, the StarMed Healthcare site was located on Raeford Road, but has since moved to the new location.

Open on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., the clinic offers walk-ups or registration over the phone at 980-445-9818 or online at starmed.care.

Among the offerings are the Pfizer, Moderna, and Johnson & Johnson vaccines and antibody therapy for patients age 12 and older. The antibody therapy is not a substitute for the vaccine and is administered by either a 21-minute IV infusion or subcutaneous injection, followed by a 60-minute observation period in case of side effects.

Research has shown that the therapy is helpful in cases in which the patient exhibits mild to moderate symptoms; the treatment reduces the length and severity of the symptoms and lessens the chance of hospitalization.

All treatments are free of cost to the patients, with or without insurance.
