Sprinkles, a family-owned ice cream shop in Harnett County, has quickly become a beloved gathering place for local families. After opening its first location in Bunnlevel in November 2023, Sprinkles has now expanded to a second shop in downtown Dunn. The owners celebrated the shop’s grand opening on Saturday, Feb. 28.

Sprinkles began with owners Sab Jaradat and his wife, lifelong ice cream fanatics. As parents of two young children, they noticed that the Anderson Creek area, despite its many young families and nearby schools, lacked family-oriented destinations. When they discovered a vacant building with a large parking lot and grassy outdoor space, they saw an opportunity to create a safe, welcoming place for families to gather.

From the start, Sprinkles has emphasized more than just dessert. The Anderson Creek “mother location” often hosts food trucks, turning the shop into a casual community hub where families can linger, kids can run around and neighbors can connect. That strong response helped pave the way for the second location in Dunn, an up-and-coming downtown area with growing foot traffic and few competitors offering a similar experience.

All ice cream is produced at the original Bunnlevel location. The menu includes a variety of homemade flavors that can be enjoyed in a cup, cone, waffle bowl or shake with over 20 toppings available to customize your sweet treat. Fan favorite flavors include Oreo cheesecake, Biscoff cheesecake, peanut butter cookie dough,  and lemon berry.

With over 20 employees and two managers supporting daily operations, the owners remain deeply involved in production, logistics and administration. For them, the reward is seeing families enjoy the space, discover new flavors and make Sprinkles part of their routines.

“It’s really worth it when we see families come in with their young kids having a good time, enjoying the ice cream…when we make a new flavor,  just seeing kind of the customer's reaction when they taste it for the first time, just falling in love with a lot of the stuff that we work hard to put together it just makes it all worth it. I think that's the best part of what we do,” shared Sab.

The new location is at 17 E. Broad Street in Dunn. Its hours of operation are Sunday through Thursday from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m.
