FAST offering on-site interviews during hiring fair; Hiring fair set for March 10

Fayetteville Area System of Transit (FAST) will host a hiring fair on Tuesday, March 10 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the FAST Transit Center, 505 Franklin Street.

FAST is currently hiring for helpful, service-oriented people. Those interested are encouraged to apply online at FayettevilleNC.gov/Jobs before attending the hiring fair, but not required. Positions will be posted online on Sunday, March 8.

Applicants will have the opportunity to apply in person and participate in on-site interviews.

Staff members will be present to answer any questions about job duties, responsibilities and career opportunities.

Opening positions include CDL Operator, CDL Trainee, Non CDL Operator, Senior Heavy Equipment Mechanic and Heavy Equipment Mechanic.

FAST Transit Operators must be attentive, professional, practice safe driving habits and most importantly, provide excellent customer service.

Paid Training offered for CDL Trainees

Paid training is provided for new trainees with no prior commercial passenger transportation (CDL) driving experience, and who do not possess a commercial driver’s license. Trainees are employed by the City during the training period. They must complete and pass the class to continue employment with the City. The training program at FTCC is a five-week/200-hour program.
