Bella Nonna rebrands to Boston Roast Beef & Chowda Company, introduces new menu

After three years serving up classic Italian dishes in the Fayetteville area, Bella Nonna is launching a bold new identity and a menu straight out of Boston.

Owner and chef Robert Kalish, who grew up in the restaurant business in Boston, is rebranding his Italian food truck as Boston Roast Beef & Chowda Company, a concept built around the flavors and memories of his hometown.

“I was born and raised in Boston. [I decided] I wanted to bring that food, that style, that attitude, to the food truck,” shared Kalish. To me, cooking is enticing a memory or bringing a memory back. It’s all about what you grew up with.”

The new menu centers on Boston-style roast beef sandwiches and New England clam chowder, two staples Kalish says “you’ll find in every sub shop” back home. He draws on decades of professional experience, including time as sous chef at Boston’s historic Union Oyster House, where the chowder he helped create was served to five U.S. presidents and won multiple awards.

The new brand will serve different variations of a roast beef sandwich, from a roast beef club to a roast beef patty melt to the messy Bostonian and the classic three-way. The menu will shift a bit with the seasons, with specials like lobster rolls being offered in the summer.

The rebranding will roll out over the next six months. The business debuted its new menu over the weekend while serving food at Little Heathens Brewery. The trailer will be repainted and a new logo applied in the coming months, and the Facebook page will be updated to reflect the new identity.
