29 residents appointed to serve on City Boards and Commissions

During the March 9 Council meeting, City Council appointed 29 residents to serve on City Boards and Commissions, starting April 1.   

Boards and commissions members are volunteers appointed by City Council to serve as advisors who help shape the policies and programs of Fayetteville. There are some boards and commissions that require members to have particular expertise and positions.  

The list of new appointments is below: 

Airport Commission  

Audit Committee  

Community Police Advisory Board  

Fayetteville Advisory Committee on Transit (FACT)  

Fair Housing Board  

Fayetteville NEXT Commission  

Human Relations Commission  

Linear Park, Inc.  

Public Arts Commission  

Redevelopment Commission  

Senior Citizens Advisory Commission  

Woodpecker Capital Reserve Account  

An orientation for all appointees is scheduled for March 27 in City Hall.  

Boards and commissions are a great way for residents to engage in their community and continue to build a better Fayetteville. 

Board meetings are open to the public, and anyone interested in understanding how an advisory board operates is welcome to attend a meeting. Locations and meeting schedules are listed on the website calendar at FayettevilleNC.gov.
