A new food truck park and event space designed to serve as a community hub is set to open in Hope Mills.

The Hive of Hope Mills, a $1.1 million project, will hold its grand opening on Friday, April 10, at 11:30 a.m. The opening weekend will feature food trucks, special events and family-friendly activities.

Located at 3414 Bullard St., the development will include space for seven food trucks and a 3,500-square-foot event center. The site will also feature an old-fashioned grill and bar, a commissary kitchen, a covered stage and a market for local artisans and farmers.

Big T’s, a longtime Hope Mills snack bar, announced it will expand into a permanent location at The Hive while keeping its original site beside Hope Mills Lake. The new location will allow the business to offer popular summer treats such as snoballs and ice cream year-round.

“We are beyond excited for this next chapter and so thankful for this amazing community that continues to support us,” the company shared in a social media post. “Join us for our grand opening and ribbon cutting as we celebrate the start of something special together.”

Applications for food truck vendors are now open and available at the company’s website www.thehiveofhopemills.com

The grand opening comes nearly one year after the Town of Hope Mills broke ground on the project.
