Sampson County Tourism has announced that Kate Randleman will join the organization as director beginning April 13, 2026. In this role, Randleman will lead efforts to promote tourism across the county and highlight the community’s attractions, events and local businesses.
A native of Salemburg, North Carolina, Randleman brings a strong connection to the community and a passion for local engagement.
“Growing up here in Sampson County showed me how important community impact is,” said Randleman in a press release. “I am so grateful to have this opportunity to promote the place I call home and help share what makes Sampson County special.”
Randleman attended Campbell University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in management and marketing as well as a Master of Business Administration. Her background in business and marketing will support Sampson County Tourism’s mission to attract visitors and strengthen the local economy.
Randleman’s experience in tourism and community development began early, having interned with the Sampson County Convention & Visitors Bureau for several years during both high school and college. She also gained valuable municipal experience through an internship with the Town of Fuquay-Varina. Most recently, she served part-time with the Dunn Area Tourism Authority as special events and social media coordinator, where she supported event planning and digital engagement efforts to promote the area.
“We are excited to welcome Kate into this leadership role,” said Wally Bashlor, chair of the Sampson County Convention & Visitors Bureau, in a press release. “Her familiarity with the community, combined with her educational and professional experience, positions her well to lead our tourism efforts forward. The CVB Board looks forward to working with Kate to develop new initiatives that enhance visitor experiences and strengthen engagement across Sampson County.”
The Sampson County Tourism Development Authority, operating as the Sampson County Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB), is responsible for marketing the county as a travel destination and enhancing the visitor experience. Funded primarily through occupancy tax revenues, the CVB invests in strategic marketing initiatives, event promotion, and partnerships that drive visitation and economic impact. The organization also works closely with local governments, businesses, and community stakeholders to support tourism-related development and elevate Sampson County’s profile across the region and state.
