NCDCDT recognizes Miller’s Brew Coffee Shop as Employer of the Year

The NC Division of Career Development and Transition recently recognized Miller’s Crew and Miller’s Brew Coffee Shop as the 2026 Employer of the Year.

Kim and Karl Molnar opened Miller’s Brew Coffee Shop, a shop that doubles as a training center for adults with special needs, in the first quarter of 2023. The coffee shop is an extension of the couple’s nonprofit organization, Miller’s Crew, started in 2016. In March of 2025, the team opened a second Miller’s Brew shop located at the Cumberland County West Regional Library.

“We are blessed and grateful for all accolades,  but this award signifies a group of individuals who know that with training, teaching and time, individuals who learn differently can be successful outside of their family circle. They can become the BEST employees ever! They just need a chance. We give them that chance to learn and grow in an environment that is not any different than any other business,” shared the Miller’s Brew team on Facebook. 

The North Carolina Division on Career Development and Transition is a statewide professional educational organization, with a primary mission to promote and support efforts to improve the quality of, and access to career development and transition services for individuals with all exceptionalities across the life span.
