Community members, civic leaders and supporters of Scouting will gather on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. for the 2026 Distinguished Citizens Awards Dinner hosted by the Occoneechee Council, Scouting America in Cumberland County.
The event will honor Sandy Ammons and Jim Ammons for their decades of leadership, public service and dedication to the Fayetteville community and Scouting.
Judge Jim Ammons currently serves as senior resident superior court judge for Cumberland County, while Sandy Ammons recently retired as executive director of the FTCC Foundation after a distinguished career in advancement, nonprofit leadership and community engagement.

The evening will feature remarks from community leaders, testimonials, award presentations and participation from local Scouts. Distinguished guests include Paul M. Newby and Dave Boliek.
