Seniors, 55+ will soon have new opportunities to strengthen their technology skills through the Senior Technology Literacy Series, a Fayetteville-Cumberland Parks and Recreation program designed to help participants navigate today's digital world, stay connected with loved ones and protect themselves online.

Members of the Fayetteville-Cumberland Youth Council and the City's Information Technology Department will lead hands-on technology classes for seniors at the Bill Crisp Senior Center and Senior Center East, creating a unique opportunity for intergenerational learning as youth leaders share their technology knowledge while helping seniors become more comfortable using the tools they encounter every day.

Understanding how to safely use devices, manage online accounts, identify scams and navigate digital platforms can help seniors remain independent, informed and protected. The first class, Navigating Social Media and Smartphones, will be held on Thursday, June 11, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Bill Crisp Senior Center. A second session will be offered on Monday, June 15, from 11 a.m. to noon at Senior Center East.
