Fort Bragg Red White Boom Fest set for June 27

The Directorate of Family, Morale, Welfare and Recreation will host Fort Bragg’s Independence Day celebration Saturday, June 27, on the Main Post Parade Field. Entrance to the Red, White and Boom Fest is free and open to the public.

There will be a variety of food vendors, Kiddieland with bounce houses, a parachute demonstration by the All Veterans Parachute Team, the traditional Flag Ceremony and the 82nd Airborne Division Rock Band. This year’s national music acts include Hoobastank, Niko Moon and The Fray. Fireworks are set to close the celebration.

Gates open at 3 p.m. with the 82nd Rock Band kicking things off at 4:30 p.m. The All Veterans Parachute Team is scheduled for 5 p.m. and the Flag Ceremony at 5:32 p.m. Hoobastank is set to take the stage at 6 p.m., Niko Moon at 7:10 p.m. and The Fray at 8:30 p.m. followed by fireworks at about 9:45 p.m.

Free parking is available at the Womack Army Medical Center with Rock Merritt Road closed to vehicle traffic.

Installation access is available through All American Main Gate, R. Miller, Long Street and Chicken Road. Non-Department of War ID cardholders should obtain a gate pass online before the event. Those seeking to obtain visitor passes on the day of the event must do so at the All American Visitor Center and will experience long lines and delays. Additional 4th of July festivities to put on your calendar include:

June 27: The Town of Hope Mills will also host its annual Independence Day Celebration and fireworks show, offering another festive option just outside downtown Fayetteville.
July 4: The Fayetteville Symphony Orchestra returns to Festival Park for its annual patriotic concert and fireworks display, a longtime Fayetteville tradition pairing live orchestral music with a downtown fireworks finale.
July 4: Hope Mills’ annual Independence Day Parade brings classic small-town Americana to Cumberland County with floats, community groups and local celebrations throughout the morning.
