The City of Lumberton is proud to celebrate Main Street Lumberton earning Main Street America™ Accreditation for 2026.
Each year, Main Street America and its state coordinating partner, the N.C. Main Street & Rural Planning Center, announce the list of programs to recognize their exceptional commitment to preservation-based economic development and community revitalization through the Main Street Approach™.
“This recognition reflects the hard work and dedication of many people who believe in the future of our community. Downtown revitalization is a team effort, and this achievement belongs to the volunteers, business owners, property owners, investors, City staff, Mayor and City Council, and community partners who continue to invest in Downtown Lumberton. A vibrant downtown strengthens our entire city, and we are proud to be recognized among North Carolina's accredited Main Street communities,” shared Downtown Development Coordinator Sarah Beth Ward in a post to social media.
“Our Main Street Accredited communities have demonstrated substantial achievement, driven by a clear vision for resilient downtowns,” said Liz Parham, director of the N.C. Main Street & Rural Planning Center, in a press release. “Their work reflects a deep commitment to excellence and a belief in what their communities can accomplish through collaboration, determination, and forward‑looking leadership.”
