Moore County Child Care Economic Summit: Understanding the impact of the childcare crisis on business owners and leaders

Join ExCEL NC, Moore County Chamber of Commerce and other community partners to explore the economic impact of the childcare crisis and how business leaders can drive solutions at the Child Care Economic Summit scheduled for Friday, Aug. 7, at 9:00 a.m. 

Access to affordable, reliable childcare impacts more than just families. It directly impacts the local workforce, affecting employers of all sizes in every industry and the success and growth of their businesses, which in turn impacts the prosperity of the local economy and the vibrancy of the entire community. In North Carolina, research indicates that addressing childcare challenges for working parents could increase the state’s GDP by as much as $7.5 billion annually. Employers across all industries are experiencing the effects through workforce participation, employee retention, recruitment challenges, absenteeism and productivity.

To explore these issues and discuss potential solutions, the Moore County Chamber is partnering with ExCEL NC, Moore County Economic Development Partnership and Partners for Children and Families to host a Child Care Economic Summit focused on the intersection of business, workforce and early childhood education, and what we can do about it together.
