Campbell University College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences is now accepting applications for its new Doctor of Medical Science (DMSc) program, providing practicing PAs with an opportunity to advance their careers through flexible, fully online doctoral education.
The program will welcome its inaugural class in January 2027.
Designed specifically for certified PAs, the 36-credit-hour program can be completed in four semesters through asynchronous online coursework, allowing students to continue working while earning their doctorate.
The Doctor of Medical Science program is designed to equip PAs with the advanced knowledge and leadership skills needed to meet the evolving demands of healthcare. Whether graduates aspire to lead healthcare organizations, educate future clinicians or contribute to research and medical affairs, the program provides the flexibility and specialized training to help them achieve those goals.
The curriculum emphasizes leadership, evidence-based practice and professional growth through three specialized tracks:
Students will build upon their clinical experience while developing advanced competencies that prepare them to expand their impact within healthcare organizations, academic institutions and industry.
The online format is intentionally designed with working professionals in mind, allowing physician assistants to balance career, family and educational goals without relocating or interrupting their practice.
The Doctor of Medical Science program builds upon Campbell University’s long-standing commitment to educating healthcare professionals who lead with purpose, compassion and service.
The launch of the application marks an exciting milestone for both Campbell University and the physician assistant program, providing practicing PAs with a new opportunity to continue growing as leaders, educators and innovators while remaining active in clinical practice. The program reflects the College’s commitment to preparing healthcare professionals to meet the evolving needs of patients and communities.
