Agents and leadership from Coldwell Banker Advantage and Coldwell Banker Sea Coast Advantage gathered at Highland Country Club on Thursday, July 16, to celebrate one of their own as she was recognized with two national achievements.
In early May, it was announced that Coldwell Banker Advantage Relocation Director Lindsey Backey had been awarded both of Cartus’ highest honors: the Champions Cup and the Master’s Cup.
THE MASTER’S CUP is awarded to the broker who achieves the highest total excellence points at the anagram level, with points earned through conversion, broker-to-broker closings and agent-generated closings.
THE CHAMPIONS CUP recognizes the broker who achieves the highest combined total of excellence points and raw conversion at the anagram level.
“I’m so grateful to accept these on behalf of Coldwell Banker. I know you all keep saying ‘Lindsey, Lindsey,’ but they certainly are on behalf of you guys. It all trickles down from the top. This wouldn’t be possible without the owners and leadership at our company who truly believe in putting people first,” shared Backey. “That is commitment and integrity that trickles from the top down that taught me how to run my department, so I am forever grateful for that.”
The celebration event honored the achievements and highlighted the impact of strong teams within the company’s regional network.
“Lindsey’s accomplishments this past year have been extraordinary, but as she would be the first to tell you, none of them would have been possible without each of you. Whether you represent the Sandhills, Seacoast, Triangle-Triad, Myrtle Beach, the mountains or any of our affiliated regions, your professionalism, dedication to your clients and willingness to serve have made these achievements possible,” shared President of Coldwell Banker Advantage Sandhills Region Lisa Geddie.
A new C-Suite leader was also in attendance. CEO and Founder of Compass Inc. (Compass) Robert Reffkin joined them at the Highland Country Club to present the awards and connect directly with his new agents and local leadership teams.
In September of 2025, Compass jointly announced the signing of a definitive merger agreement with Anywhere Real Estate Inc., a parent company of many recognizable names in the real estate industry, including Coldwell Banker® and Coldwell Banker Commercial®.
Compass serves as a leading tech-enabled real estate services company that includes the largest residential real estate brokerage in the United States by sales volume. The deal was approved and completed in January of 2026. The combined company is expected to have an enterprise value of approximately $10 billion, including the assumption of debt.
CEO of Huff Family Offices Ralph Huff was able to share his excitement about the acquisition in a statement read during the event:
“I am so proud tonight to introduce Robert Reffkin, CEO of Compass, Inc. In 2012, he cofounded Compass, Inc. with Ori Allon. The inspiration for his business came from his mother, who suffered hardships working as a real estate agent. Each of you can relate to those struggles! He was inspired to use technology to improve the ability of agents to build their brand, analyze data and to conduct market research to make their business more efficient and profitable. He has invested $1.5 billion in this technology platform, and next year it will be yours. This is the reason that all of us are excited about his acquisition of Coldwell Banker earlier this year.”
This event also provided a platform for in-person connection and transparency with a corporate leader. Reffkin was able to participate in a Q&A session with realtors to share what is to come with this new deal.
“I’m proud to be here. I’m proud to work for you. You are the client. The only reason why Compass International Holdings exists is to help you grow your business. If we can’t help you grow your business, we have no reason to exist. I’m here to listen to you on what matters,” shared Reffkin. “The Coldwell Banker brand is never going away. I’m deeply proud of the Coldwell Banker brand,” continued Reffkin. “I get to go to these markets and visit all of the different brands. And your brand is unique. The balance of professionalism, ethics, heart and community care. It’s just an incredible balance. So I’m very proud to have a part in supporting this brand in the years to come.”
