ATEX Technologies offers pre-employment workshop with Sandhills Community College

ATEX Technologies is offering a two-day Pre-employment Workshop for three positions including Intricate Assembly Technician, Rewrite Quality Inspection Technician and Weave Technician for 2nd and 3rd shifts (3 – 11 p.m. and 11 p.m. to 7 a.m.). 

The training sessions will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 15 and Wednesday, Sept. 16 from 3 to 6 p.m. in Kennedy Hall on the Sandhills Community College campus in Pinehurst. The two-day session is fee waive eligible.

Attending and participating in the workshop will lead to a guaranteed interview upon completion with the company that could lead to full-time work. Starting pay is $17.50 an hour with opportunities for ongoing training, testing and career growth opportunities with ATEX over a multi-year period.

Training offered for in-demand careers including:

Intricate Assembly Technician
Performs precision assembly of small components into finished products. Requires high-level of hand-eye coordination, fine motor skills, and a patient disposition.

Rewrite Quality Inspection Technician

Performs visual inspection of finished products using tools and gauges. Requires keen attention to detail; ability to plan, organize, multi-task, and remain focused on the tasks at hand; and a strong sense of urgency and teamwork.

Weave Technician

Performs loom set-up and start-up. Patrols a group of looms during shift. Requires high-level of hand-eye coordination, fine motor skills, excellent depth perception and eyesight, and the ability to stay on feet while patrolling looms.

These positions are for long-term career paths with excellent growth potential, including cross-training to support building a successful and rewarding career with ATEX.
