Fans of Duck Donuts will now have to travel out of Fayetteville to get their fix. The brand, known for its made-to-order donuts featuring “a duckzillion donut combinations,” announced on its Facebook page on Thursday, Aug. 13 that the Skibo Road location would be permanently closing its doors. Management shared in a post on Facebook:
“After many wonderful years serving the Fayetteville area- we've made the decision to close this location. We are incredibly grateful for the loyal guests, families, and community members who supported our shop. Thank you for your support, your visits, and your love for warm, delicious donuts. Please visit www.duckdonuts.com for all of your donut needs! Thank you for being a part of our story!”
The location at 2123 Skibo Road, was Fayetteville’s first, which opened its doors in October 2016.
The brand later expanded into a second location at 5155 Ramsey St. which opened on Aug. 6, 2018. That location permanently closed on Dec. 24, 2024. That announcement was also made through a social media post and cited an increase in rent as the reason for the closure.
“... On a sad note, Dec 24 will be the last day for the Ramsey location to be open. The landlord raised the rent again and that was the final straw. Thank you for almost 7 years of your patronage. Please visit us at 2132 Skibo Road for all your donut/milkshake/sundae /catering needs. Merry Christmas.”
The closest Duck Donuts to Fayetteville is now located in Cary, N.C. at 100 Wrenn Drive.
