Cumberland County launches new digital interface for planning and inspections

By Staff Report, posted Jan 17, 2022 on BizFayetteville.com

On Jan. 18, Cumberland County Planning and Inspections will stop accepting paper applications due to the implementation of the ENERGOV portal.

ENERGOV is an online portal for all development plan submissions.

Planning and Inspections implemented this new system in July 2021.

The portal allows applicants to submit materials without the need for paper submissions. With digital submissions, the new system allows more streamlined and efficient review processes.

To submit applications, click on the link for “Applications and Forms” on the Planning and Inspections main webpage.

Those without internet access can come to the Planning Department for access to a public commuter and scanner to gain access to the ENERGOV portal.

With the implementation of the online portal, Planning and Inspections staff are prioritizing digital plan submissions ahead of those submitted by paper. Any submission submitted by paper will result in the project being labeled as incomplete and denied until submitted digitally.

Applicants who need assistance in submitting materials from home or office may call the Planning and Inspections staff at 910-678-7600.
