FTCC offers Electrical Contractor’s License Prep Course

Fayetteville Technical Community College is offering an Electrical Contractor’s License Prep Course designed to help technicians take charge of their careers and advance toward becoming licensed independent electrical contractors in North Carolina.

The course provides targeted exam preparation training with comprehensive coverage of the National Electrical Code (NEC), load calculations, motor circuits, grounding and bonding and blueprints. Training is designed specifically to align with the North Carolina State Board of Examiners of Electrical Contractors (NCSBEEC) Limited, Intermediate and Unlimited classifications.

In addition to preparing students for the licensing exam, the course is intended to support regional safety, regulatory compliance and economic development while boosting participants’ earning potential.

The 40-hour, face-to-face course will meet on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Classes are scheduled for September 26, October 10, October 24, November 7, and November 21.

The course costs $125, and scholarships are available for eligible students. Students must purchase textbooks prior to class. A list of required books is available through the FTCC Center for Business & Industry (CBI).
