Downtown Fayetteville’s “A Dickens Holiday” joins Giving Tuesday

A Dickens Holiday is proud to announce that this year they will be participating in the Cumberland Community Foundation’s Giving Tuesday, a global day of giving that brings communities together to support charitable organizations.

For nearly 30 years, A Dickens Holiday has invited downtown Fayetteville to step into the story through dressing up, shopping downtown businesses, pursuing local vendors or watching fireworks after a candlelight procession.

It began as a cheerful alternative to the rush of Black Friday – an invitation to spend the Friday after Thanksgiving strolling downtown, visiting local shops, sharing time with family and friends and beginning the Christmas season together.

Now with a new nonprofit home in Downtown Creative works, this holiday season, A Dickens Holiday is inviting the community to embrace the spirit of generosity and help support the continued growth of this beloved holiday tradition.

“Giving Tuesday is a reminder that the things we treasure in a community don’t just happen – they happen because people care enough to make them possible. For Downtown Creative Works, it’s an opportunity to bring people together around a shared belief in downtown Fayetteville. This year, we hope Giving Tuesday helps more people see themselves as a part of the Dickens family,” shared Elaine Kelley, president of Downtown Creative Works.

A Dickens Holiday will take place Nov. 27, 2026.

Community members are encouraged to participate in Giving Tuesday between Nov. 23 and Dec. 1.
