TRP Sumner announces opening of new building

The new TRP Sumner office opens Feb. 7.

After “almost two years of meetings, planning, scheduling,  forecasting and finally constructing,” TRP Sumner announced today that their new Robeson Street building is complete and the firm has moved in.

The official opening of the new building is Feb. 7.

The need for the new building began after McFadyen & Sumner and TRP merged. Combining the Fayetteville and Dunn offices, the company had 18 CPAs and 70 local employees, so with the merger came a need for a new space.

“What we found was we needed about 16 or 17,000 square feet to house everyone who works in the Fayetteville offices, and we just could not find one location that was big enough for all of us. So we took a step and decided, ‘Well, what if we went with a campus concept where it was multiple buildings but on one piece of property?’” Lisa Sessoms, a partner at TRP Sumner, told Greater Fayetteville Business Journal last year.

The new “TRP Sumner Campus,” as the firm calls it, includes the new building in addition to the existing  TRP office, formerly located at 2405 Robeson Street. The Campus address for both buildings is 2401 Robeson Street.

“All personnel from our Fayetteville office at 572 Executive Place have moved to the new Campus, and that office  is now closed,” the press release said. “The Dunn office of TRP Sumner (110 Commerce Drive) remains operational, providing a full  range of services for clients in that area.”

After tax season, the company plans to have a ribbon cutting and open house.

“TRP Sumner is deeply grateful to our clients – from those who have been with us for decades, to those who have  joined us in recent years. Your trust in us to help you grow your business or personal financial wealth is a major  reason for our growth,” the statement said.

“We are also grateful to all the businesses and individuals who worked diligently and contributed to the construction  and opening of our new building. Special thanks to Partner Matthew Smith, who oversaw and managed all  phases of the building process. In addition, our Firm Administrator, Tammy Goodwin, did a great job supervising  the move of more than 40 people in the Fayetteville area – no simple feat!”
