After three long years, the Fayetteville Dogwood Festival is returning for its 40th year.
The Fayetteville Dogwood Festival will continue its tradition of hosting a four-day festival.
"The Dogwood Festival is completely inclusive to the community," said the Fayetteville Dogwood Festival Executive Director Sarahgrace Snipes. "We want to support the Fayetteville area and the Fayetteville businesses the most we can and work on partnerships to ensure that both parties benefit."
The Dogwood Festival kicks off on Thursday, Apr. 21 with the ticketed Cork & Fork food and wine event. Tickets are on sale now for the event at $40 per person or $75 per couple. Learn more about Cork & Fork at https://www.thedogwoodfestival.com/cork-fork.
Festivities open up to the public on Friday, Apr. 22, and continue throughout the weekend in Festival Park and surrounding areas in downtown Fayetteville with local and visiting vendors.
Friday night, the opening ceremony starts at 6 p.m. on the Festival Park stage with live music, the Midway of Carnival rides, plus food and other vendors.
Saturday morning, the festival will feature more local and national acts and festivities, such as the Kids Zone, BMX Bike Show, and many more. The festival concludes on Sunday with a car and motorcycle show, the downtown street fair, and more.
With the abundance of live performances, events, vendors, and activities, the Dogwood Festival will attract many travelers to the Fayetteville area, thus impacting the local economy, Snipes said.
"The economic impact comes down to us bringing between 200-250 vendors to the Fayetteville area, with at least 50 percent of them being out-of-town visitors, which leads to them needing to book hotel rooms in the Fayetteville area. This includes our entertainment as well," Snipes explained.
To track where travelers are coming from and see which areas of the state are impacting the Fayetteville community, there will be QR codes that those in attendance can scan and will keep note of where they are visiting from.
