United Way of Cumberland County recognized Fayetteville PWC with the 2021 Spirit of North Carolina Award for investing in long-term sustainable impacts while looking to move forward in recovering from COVID-19.
The annual Spirit of North Carolina Award celebrates organizations for the accomplishments achieved through impactful events, engaged leadership, and volunteer involvement.
"The Spirit of North Carolina Award allows United Way of Cumberland County to acknowledge organizations who positively impact our neighborhoods," said Amy Navejas, J.D., United Way of Cumberland County executive director and CEO. "We applaud Fayetteville PWC for being difference makers in our community."
Not only was PWC recognized for raising over $150,000 in fundraising, but also for its continuous support of the community throughout the years. PWC has been involved in neighborhood clean-ups, fan donations for local senior citizens, 3,500 pounds of food donations to local food banks, and more.
"2021 was a year of continued challenges, requiring flexibility and creativity when planning fundraising campaigns," explained Navejas. "Our heartfelt congratulations to all 2021 Spirit of North Carolina winners for their incredible accomplishments and dedication to United Way."
