The North Carolina Technology Association released its monthly snapshot of tech talent trends in the state for February.
The monthly trend is released at the latter half of each month, with a snapshot of the previous month and a rolling thirteen-month chart of IT job openings to follow patterns. These snapshots provide insights to employers and professionals as they assess the employment scene.
"IT job openings in February nearly matched January's high mark, following the typical pattern of a boost in openings early in the new year," said Brooks Raiford, CEO of NC TECH. In January, there were 48,688 job postings. February showed 48,538 job postings.
"We are watching closely to see whether hiring dips after this quarter or remains high due to ongoing demand," Raiford added.
The state of North Carolina saw a 45 percent increase from Feb. 2021 with 47,778 job postings.
Fayetteville was ranked fifth in the top MSAs of North Carolina for IT job postings. There was a 36 percent increase for job postings in Fayetteville from February 2021 to February 2022, with 1,457 postings last month.
