The Harnett County Board of Commissioners approved the Economic Development’s Economic Development Annual Work Plan for quarters two through four.
The work plan is an operational plan to accomplish goals through strategic action.
"Our work plan combines several recent planning efforts and priorities of our County Commissioners," said Director of Economic Development Christian Lockamy. "We assessed the business climate and felt it was time to stake our claim. We want opportunity for our people and felt it was time to tell the world our story. Harnett County is here to compete."
With the approval, Harnett County Economic Development will be pursuing land to create a new business park and recruit a builder to partner on a shell building. Other items to be completed with the work plan include rewriting the incentive policy, launching a new website, creating new marketing materials, creating a lab or-shed analysis, creating a marketing plan, and creating a BRE plan.
Along with these new ventures for the future of Harnett County, the public economic development organization will transition to a public-private partnership.
The approval of the Economic Development’s Economic Development Work Plan will create new jobs and opportunities for Harnett County that will impact the people living in the community.
