Specialty retail store to open this Friday in Elizabethtown

The White Lake Area Chamber of Commerce is celebrating a new business coming to the area with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday, April 8 at noon. 

Located at Cross Plaza at 129 W. Broad Street in Elizabethtown, Sweeter than Hunny is a gift and boutique store with a variety of items of interest for everyone.

Owner Toni Cross is a life-long citizen of Elizabethtown and has experience owning another business for gifts, candies, and gift baskets called gift, candy, and gift basket business called Sweet Thoughts. Cross is married to Powell Cross and has four children and three grandchildren.

“When Powell and I started raising a family, I stepped to the side to raise my family,” she said. “Now with my new nickname (Hunny) from my Grandchildren, I am excited to be back to fulfill my dreams of owning my own business of putting smiles on peoples’ faces.”

In the store customers can find Yankee Candles, Brumate, Umgee, Pol, Judy Blue Blue Jeans, Bourbon Barrel spices and sauces, and a variety of sweets. The store can also design and build gift baskets for any occasion.
