The Fayetteville North Carolina Veteran Affairs Coastal Health Care System selected Jefferey Morgan, MD, to serve as the interim executive director as of April 9.
Former Executive Director, Daniel Dücker, served as the director in Fayetteville since 2019 before being appointed as the executive director for the VA Tennessee Valley Healthcare system in Nashville.
Morgan will serve in this position until a permanent director is appointed. Prior to this appointment, Morgan served as the chief of staff overseeing healthcare delivery to 85,000 veterans with a staff of more than 2,5000 employees in 19 counties in the Southeastern region.
Morgan is a graduate of West Point and East Tennessee State University’s James H. Quillen College of Medicine. He also has a Master of Business Administration from Duke University with a concentration in Health Sector Management.
In September 2017, Morgan joined the VA as an orthopedic surgeon after retiring from the United States Military.
Morgan is certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery, as well as a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
